The Silent Way

In the Experience section of The Silent Way, students participate in a sample language class where the method is demonstrated. The teacher remains mostly silent throughout the lesson and gives very limited verbal instruction.

Instead of explaining or modeling the language, the teacher uses visual aids like color-coded word charts and physical tools such as Cuisenaire rods to guide students in discovering the target language themselves.
